Hey Backers,
How are you all doing? We do hope that you are all safe and well.
We know that you are all anxiously waiting for updates and we are doing our very best to gather as much information for you as possible- In fact this is the main reason for the delay in posting this update, as we’ve been waiting for some updates from our vendors.
So what's the status of the production?
This is obviously the most interesting subject, and believe us, we are all exactly in the same boat!
As mentioned in our previous updates, the world got hit by the biggest semi-conductor shortage in 20 years, which also hit us, and put our production on hold (due to lack of chips).
We were hoping and expected to receive some updates from our chip vendors (actually every day during the last few weeks), and wished to finally form and share with you some actual plans... unfortunately, the vendors just couldn't deliver any solid data to us so far, and we decided not to wait any longer with posting our update. Apparently, the IC vendors also suffer from the same crazy supply chain crisis, with a lack of materials, huge queues of customers (like ourselves), and limited visibility about the coming stocks.
Having said all that, we are keeping our optimism alive and expect a solution for our project very soon. As mentioned before, we luckily made our orders long before this crazy situation started, and have commitments from the vendors to support us with high priority! (We expect their update very soon, and will obviously share it all with you in our next update)
So... once we get the chips, then what?
Everything is ready for mass production, and for the completion and fulfillment of this project!
* We have the final molds, the final electronic, final FW, and a beautiful package!
* We have finalized all the international tests, certifications and regulations (radio, safety and so on).
* We even optimized the assembly line with full testing automation and QA to assure the highest quality,
!!! So once we have the chips, we can immediately start the production and fulfillment – and we just can't wait to start !!!
So, what are we doing in the meantime?
Well, we are taking advantage of this time to perfect everything. especially the app, the look and feel, and the overall gaming experience.
We are optimizing the onboarding and the dice connectivity (which is commonly the main challenge of connected gadgets - and with GoDice we need to manage 6 of them and more simultaneously!),
We are significantly improving the visuals of all the games (compared to what was presented in the campaign), adding fun animation, sounds and effects to many of them, and we are also working on new ones!

Hi Friends,
We hope all is well with you and your families, and that you are all safe and healthy.
We promised to keep you posted on a monthly basis, and share with you the status and progress regardless of whether we have big news to share, or not. Having said that, this is one of these updates. The truth is we don’t have much news at this time.
In our last update, we shared with you the new (hopefully the last) challenge we are facing - the biggest semiconductor crisis in more than 20 years, a global shortage that hits worldwide markets and industries, and "small us" as part of it. This is the last thing that holds us back from manufacturing.
As mentioned before, FORTUNATELY, we have worked closely with the vendors and made our orders soon enough to be in their allocation lists. Also, the latest status we shared with you last time, for the IC to arrive in Sept, didn't change from last time, which is in itself great (GREAT) news. We are constantly in communication with our vendors and make sure that we receive the commitment due to us. As soon as we get it, the factory will finally be able to start and roll its engines.
In the meantime, our team keeps improving and polishing the app, further improve the production automation to boost the process (once we start), and perfect the addons and "peripherals" of the product (accessories, packages, etc.) for the best possible playing experience.
We apologize for this extra delay which was forced on all of us, and like yourselves, we just can't wait to see the production line starts. As always, we are here for you, our team is fully committed to complete and deliver the best product to each and every one of you! We thank you for your concerns and beautiful emails and comments, and we appreciate your patience and your trust.

Hey backers,
It’s that time of the month again. Time to give you, our ever supporting backers, an update on what’s going on with GoDice. So here we go -
Our GoDice LED lights
We’ve received tons of private questions after the last update we shared about the new lights features and thought it would probably make sense to clarify some of the points here again.
As mentioned, the lights are a new cool (and important) add-on that enables many new signals and indicators to the players - such as charging, connectivity, low battery, identification of dice, celebrating specific rolls during games, and so many more possibilities. These additional features and use cases were raised as practical needs during playtests done by our more than willing team.
The transparent casing that we showed was only used to show you the internal features of the dice, the actual dice will resemble a regular dice solid color with the dots.
Lastly, these LED lights will be configurable, and part of the API - so you can decide if/how you would like to use them.
Development Progress
We are very happy with the overall progress in all aspects of the project, here's a quick snapshot.
PLASTIC:
The plastic parts (and injection iterations) are progressing great and according to plan. We have completed 2 tuning cycles (out of 4 planned) of the tooling (the injection mold) to get to the final optimal plastic parts with their final finishing and tolerances.
SW:
The SW (app) progresses greatly as well, with the finalization of more and more games and features. We are running playtests with friends to perfect the experience, and the feedback we are receiving is great.
PACKAGE:
We are in the advanced stages of the package design, for both the GoDice and for the DnD Shells. Those who are familiar with GoCube know how much we care about that aspect - we see the package and unboxing as an integral part of the overall experience. We are making great progress with the development, and have a beautiful sample in hand – but prefer to leave that as a surprise for you when you get it.
ELECTRONIC:
The design is done! We have everything ready for production, both hardware and firmware.
Getting ready for mass production
Our main focus now is the preparation for the (mass) production line - with the design of assembly jigs, QC and QA, and testing automation for all the electronic components.
We want to make sure that any element of the product is being tested for quality and functionality before it leaves the factory – including the plastic, package, and electronics (Bluetooth, sensors, calibrations, charging, LEDs, and so on).
We'll be happy to share more details about that in the following updates.
The New Challenge
The effect of COVID-19 on our health is slowly becoming a thing of the past. Here at home, our mask mandate in public areas has been lifted with a 58% of the population being fully vaccinated.
But the effect of COVID economically will take much longer to understand and measure. Unfortunately, one of the new biggest economic challenges has just hit us, the Global Chip Crisis (Semiconductor Shortage).
With the surge of COVID, demand for these chips went to an all-time high, with production dramatically reduced due to lockdowns and miscalculations. People kept buying bigger technology to keep up with the demand of the WFH set-up, entertainment for kids and other family members who were forced to stay at home due to lockdowns.
COVID-19 induced a critical semiconductor crisis around the world. To make a long story short, there is a HUGE shortage in chips and electronic components, which affects the world's economy and hit even the biggest companies in the electronic market such as Samsung and Apple (who postponed the lunch of their new products because of that), with damage of tens of billions of dollars. This is the worst semiconductor situation of the last 20 years.

Clearly, these chips are the heart of our product (each die includes Bluetooth, sensors, etc.), and we are just a small party in this unexpected global crisis. Although we've placed orders for everything long ago, with commitments from the vendors to get everything in time, the vendors just don't (can't) deliver the components, which means unfortunately we just can't run the production!
The good news is that, luckily, because we have engaged with the vendors early enough and made the orders in advance, we are in their "approved lists" and they are working hard with us and are trying their best to support us. New customers and new orders are just rejected in general, and if you are lucky enough to have your order accepted, this is only with a minimum lead time of 1 year.
The initial commitment date we received from the vendors (for delivery) was April. Last month, it was surprisingly postponed to June, and last week they pushed it again to September. It hit us by surprise without prior notice!
We are in daily discussions with everyone we know in the industry, trying to pull it back, and trying to find alternative sources. This is the only obstacle we have right now in completing the project. It is very bad for everyone, and hard to accept, but unfortunately this is the situation – and we just have zero ability to avoid or control it.
Keeping up the hard work
Our commitment to the project has never wavered before the pandemic, during and definitely not after. Our team will do the best they possibly can to turn these newly received lemons into lemonade.
We are a resilient bunch of people and we are definitely not going away. We will continue to assure you of our determination to see this project through.

It’s that time of the month! Our March update is here!
And oh boy, do we have exciting news to share with you!
So what’s new with GoDice?
Let’s start with the molds… 1st Plastic Injections Samples!
As we mentioned in our last update, our molds are done and ready to begin the plastic injections. We are now producing the first samples of all the physical components, and here’s a quick look at how it looks closely (the production of the clear dice’s compartment).
The next immediate steps are measurements of the parts from all sides, fine-tuning of the molds and then injection again… and so it goes until we reach perfection. It’s a standard process that takes a few weeks and several iterations, which will be done on all the plastic parts until we get them all to the final (fine) level of quality!
Now for The Fun Part… GoDice
While waiting for the first plastic samples to arrive, we were quite busy optimizing and perfecting the hardware and firmware of the dice (the code that runs inside the dice).
The COVID and delays gave us the opportunity to work on further improvements, and to surprise you all with some cool specs and features that were not communicated so far ☺.
We didn’t want to post anything before we were sure we can make it… and finally, we are happy to share some of the latest and greatest upgrades in the project:
Who is up for a longer playtime?
We ARE for sure! Our genius designers have managed to increase your playtime for every 10-sec charge! In fact, they managed to almost triple it! Yes, 10 sec charge for almost 3 hours of gameplay! This means longer playtime and so much more fun with your family and friends!
What about some cool lights?
We ARE for sure! Do you all remember the dice’s blue light we showed in the campaign? Well, now make it bigger, brighter and happier. To maximize the playing experience and possibilities, we added a strong and fully programmable RGB LED into the dice. So be prepared for cheerful and colorful effects.
We are still testing different dice colors and materials to optimize the light transparency and natural look, but in the meantime, here’s a glimpse of how the internal lights look like with semi-transparent dice:
Want more? Well, what about premium design for the DnD shells?
Definitely a YES!!!
Now take a look at these beauties. After multiple trials, we succeeded in designing the DnD shells with a fine clear material that reflects the internal lights - making this beautiful DnD Shell. The ones below are our lab’s prototypes, and we can’t wait to see the final result of real plastic injection samples (expected only later next month).
We are definitely on a roll!
Even though there are still many challenges to overcome until we get to mass production (with hardware projects there always are), there is GREAT progress, and we will keep working days and nights to deliver you only the highest quality, best experience game nights!
Our team is abuzz with excitement when testing new features. It’s not a rarity to see our little GoDice family having our own game time in the middle of our workday. What could be better than that?

Hey Backers!!!
How are you all doing? Hope you are all doing well and healthy.
On our last update, we mentioned that we were going into another lockdown. What was supposed to be a 2-week lockdown ended up being over a month, and we just got out of it a few days ago. We guess that many of you are facing a similar reality (and like us, tired of hearing of that, and worse going through that), but hey, vaccines are here and there is a bright light around the corner!
We were so looking forward to going back to the office and continue the tasks that we couldn’t do from home.
Immediately after coming back into the office, we received news that the first molds are finally finished! We got pictures too 😊. This is one of the most crucial steps in the production process. We are very happy to share the latest images with you.
What’s New with GoDice?
The first molds are in business.
Once the factory is back from the Chinese New Year vacation (end of Feb), these molds will then receive the plastic injections, and production of the first samples of all the physical components will start. We will obviously share updates on the HW and SW of the dice as soon as we receive the first samples.
App Facelift
In parallel with the physical components, we are also giving some (if not all) of the games featured a great facelift to maximize the playing experience and the overall look and feel of the games. We want to make sure that your screen time will also be the best family time!
